"AT&T's customer service is astonishingly
and
profoundly horrible, the absolute worst, they made "me" feel like the
"crook" and I was the one that got "scammed!!!" My case was
never
resolved and the crooked scam artist merchant got the "money
and the
merchandise". I ended up with nothing but the
$1,600.00+ bill from AT&T Universal Card and a
headache! OUCH! AT&T claims I still owe the money!"
In disbelief, you ask: "HOW can that happen and could this happen to you"??
YES this could happen to you!
AT&T Universal Card employs some "lowly paid,
under-educated, not very bright customer reps., which is typical of
this industry's employment record. To work in the collection
department of most financial institutions, all you need is a G.E.D.,
intelligence is optional, as they do the monkey see, monkey do training.
I know for a fact that many of these employees barely made it out of high
school and have a difficult time "reading & writing"! OK, they're
not ALL morons. Unfortunately, in my case, initially, I got assigned
with one of these morons. My moron credit associate, after reviewing
my case, initially made the "wrong" decision
before all of the evidence was in. OK, people make mistakes and can
change their minds. The problem here was that, not only did I get an
associate that would make a idiot look like a genius, but she had "stubborn
pride". Unwilling or unable to admit she could, would or did make a
bad decision and from that point on, her "pride" got in the way of correcting the bad
decision she made in favor of the crooked merchant". To make
matters worse, then she went out of her way to PROVE to her bosses and
everyone else up the ladder that reviewed her work in this case, that she
was "right". "Unbelievable, despicable, contemptible, disgraceful that
these are typically the type of people handling your account!!!"
In any event, if you have an AT&T Universal Card,
cut it up and don't use it. Go with some other credit card
company. Not that the "others" don't hire idiots, but some companies
actually stand behind their policy and some even have managers with "the
balls" to tell an associate that they made a mistake and then actually
reverse it because that would be the right thing to do.
I can tell you from my own personal experience that AT&T
Universal card claims they will protect you, but in fact, WILL NOT protect you from unscrupulous merchants.
Another problem is WHO are the unscrupulous merchants? You won't know
until it's to late and then, AT&T Universal Card WILL NOT take
your side just because you're their customer! Now THAT, is very strange
and very bizarre, because all of my other credit card companies, that I
spoke to about this, said they DO take their
customer's side and DO try to fight for or protect their customers!!!
Not only will they not protect you, on their website
they have the following claim:

"AT&T Universal Card gives you the convenience of a credit card and calling
card in one. You’ll also enjoy security benefits, including $0 Liability
with our Unauthorized Charges Guarantee"
That, my friends, is Criminal!! They WILL NOT
necessarily protect you against UNAUTHORIZED CHARGES. If some Dope at AT&T
Universal Card makes a "judgment call" and decides it's not an Unauthorized charge, even if it's is,
you're screwed. If you give someone your
credit card number, AT&T Universal Card's stance is that you have given them
authorization to use it. As you know, that's not always the case!!!
