Complaint: Next Card Visa is horrible. They post extra payments one month and then they take away more than they should the next months saying that someone made an error. When I ask for list of postings, they tell me that I must contact this other company... of course you can only reach this company by mail. When I asked for answers they hung up on me. DO NOT USE THIS CARD!

Complaint:
Since the time NextCard went bankrupt there have been several bad faith issues.  The first was February 2003 when I received a $29 late fee.  I called NextCard twice and finally a representative told me that they had recently changed systems, had a problem and many people were wrongly charged late fees.  He credited the late fee to my account.

Since day one, I was an Internet payer with NextCard and NextCard notified me by e-mail when my invoice was due.  Since the bankruptcy they no longer notified me but I could / did pay online.  I set up a reminder in my Quicken software and would go online and make a payment whenever I received a Quicken reminder.

My balance was very small and in November I went online to make my payment. I was happy to see that my minimum due was zero and my balance was zero.  I had been trying to payoff the NextCard and assumed that my October payment had paid my account in full.  Because of this I removed the Quicken reminder and never again went to the NextCard site.

Today I received a notice from a collection agency (made me mad as $#*&^#$& because I have pristine credit) of a $140 debt owed to NextCard Master Trust.  I called NextCard and assumed that they made another mistake like they did in February 2003.  What happened was that NextCard developed a new account number and in November 2003 balanced out my old account number and merged my old balance to the new account.  This was news to me!  I never knew of this new number, never consented to it and never signed for a new account number.  When I pay online it asks for my credit card number and I gladly dug out my card and used it.   My physical credit card was the only account number I knew.  So NextCard had accrued three (at $29.00 a month) months of late fees on this new account against me and now I owe $140.

To me this is an abuse of their power.  To change your account at will and then charge late fees against an account that one never knew existed should not be legal.  I called NextCard several times until one of the Reps understood what took place and offered to remove the late fees and gave me my payoff amount.  I immediatly went to their site and paid them off.  NextCard turned out to be the worst card I ever, ever owned.  With Fed Funds rates at historical lows,  how can a credit card / bank charging 9.99 percent interest go out of business?

Complaint: I made a payment to Merrick Bank via EFT from my checking account.  This payment has been taken from my account and has been posted to my credit card account but still shows a zero available balance.  I have been told that I will not have access to this amount for 10 days.  So Merrick Bank receives my payment and posts it and also has float on it for 10 days while I sit here and cannot use it!  Has anyone ever heard of this before?  I could understand if I paid by check and it took a few days to post......

Complaint: I bought a car last year, no problem This year I went to buy a cycle and SURPRISE Nextcard has me listed as a charge off.  I have been trying unsuccessfully since that time to contact them.  I went as far as sending them a registered letter saying I have the money but like some of you they change my account number unbeknown to me and I have no record of it.  I think it sucks that this company can set out there out of reachable contact,( if you try the contact numbers given by the credit reporting companies-there's one in Norcross GA and another in AZ somewhere you will get the recording saying we're sorry this is no longer a working number) and screw up your life for seven years.  Where is the Government regulation in this???? Anyone out there have a suggestions??   DT in Okeechobee

Complaint: I have always paid my bills on time because of my profession. I now have a judgment from some law firm that purchased my account from someone else. I was on the phone with nextcard they day they were shut down, and had not heard anything until 2004. I had no address to send payments or phone number to call. Now I have an law firm asking me for 12k I said I don't owe that much I may have only owed about 3k under a 5k limit. according to the credit bureau my limit was increased by nextcard which is impossble if they were closed. I have called the banking commission in delaware who tell me to deal with the commission in california who say the bank is closed so they can't research it. I really want to get violent at this point the government needs to intervien. Further more the credit bureau advisd me not to keep disputing "a valid judgement" and ilegally it is duplicated on my credit report. AAAAAAAAAAAA!

Complaint:
I have a next card account that I have been paying on for a long period of time. Apparently, at one point my paymnet must have been late by a day or two and I incurred late charges which put me over my credit limit.
I haven't looked at my bill for several months, as I automatically just send them $50 per month. Well, they have been charging me overlimit fees for several months and I am now $500 over my limit.
I can't contact them to try to resolve this or somehow put a stop to the insanity. I can't afford to give them $500.00 just to pay my over limit fees.
Does anyone know how to contact them or any suggestions to resolve this?
