Complaint: I have recently found out that an bank, which I have closed over
a year ago has come back to haunt me. The bank International Bank of
Commerce (IBC) had noted that am NSF. I had paid this debt in full as of
August 2003. It is now the last week of August 2004 and I inquired a credit
union about opening an account. I went through the embarressment of being
denied because my records show I have an NSF. My former bank did not do
anything showing that money owed had indeed been paid in full. Here I am
with a refund check from the university I attend, my last pay check from my
former workplace, and a pay check from the school district I now teach at.
This is a significant amount of money I do not feel comfortable having
within hands reach. Did I also mention I had two astronomical utility bills
due to the summer, a car payment, insurance, rent, a credit card bill,
school loans, and car maintenance. I feel that I have been treated
unfairly. I do understand that!
there are consequence to any action but this is a little ridiculous. This
has affected my finances and has been rather frustrating. Yes, the
situation has been rectified a year later. I do have to mention that I
called the collections department, three different branches, the checking
department and customer service during my work hours. It took an estimated
time of two hours to finally talk to someone who could answer my questions
and do something. |

Complaint: They are the most unfriendly, non-customer based company I have
ever dealt with. They will rip you off any way they can and no one will
talk to you about your concerns. Not only have I gone through the drive
through to deposit a check and instead they cashed it for me, without my
drivers license and stating deposit only on the check but they have
wrongfully charged me over $1000 in overdraft fees! I'm a single mother
fighting a long uphill battle.

Complaint:
I have been a member of IBC Bank for almost 11 years. I work and travel
around the World frequently in the Merchant Marine. I have used IBC's ATM
and Check Card all over the World without a hitch in such places as Bahrain,
UAE, Singapore, Thailand, Hawaii, Saipan, Guam, Japan, Austrailia, etc.,
etc. I decided to keep IBC as my primary bank as I have my direct deposit
from the Federal Govt there and many bills are automatically paid by them
when I moved out of area. I am currently on vacation in Chiang Mai
Thailand. Upon arrival my ATM / Check Card Failed to work at vendors and
ATM's. I thought maybe the magnetic strip was damaged on the card. I
called home and asked a relative on my account to check and see what was up
with my Card and to transfer money quickly to other accounts so I could
survive my vacation. Relatives responded that IBC is no longer
servicing many countries because of Intl Financial Fraud. Hello? Nice time
to learn that without notice when I am overseas with limited means of
support. To make matters worse is that my other ATM / Check Cards are only
accepted on a limited basis at certain locations and limited amounts.
IBC has left me high and dry! I am really screwed over by these basturds!
They have ruined what would have been a relaxing vacation and made every
turn a worry some and embarassing experience. Thanks IBC! I always
wondered what it would be like to live on rice and rat for a couple of
weeks! Thanks for not responding to my emails! Thanks for the great
service! |
