Complaint:
I applied for and got a credit card from First National Bank of Marin for which they charged me 39. annual fee. Prior to the annual renewal time of Oct 2005 the bank sent me a request for $39. i.e. the next years annual fee 2006. I called them on Oct 11 and attempted to cancel my card as I have another card with no annual fee. I was told I still had to pay for the following year 2006. I made the case that since I was cancelling and not using the card anymore I should not have to pre- pay an annual fee.The representative agreed. A month later I got another statement again requesting next years fee plus they had tacked on a late fee totaling $98.I called them again and after some attempts to intimidate me the representative agreed to remove all charges and the account was cancelled. Suspicious of this credit card bank, on Jan 12 2006 I pulled a credit report from TransUnion Credit Reporting. You guessed it! the adverse charge of $98. was reported to them by FNBM and was on my!
 report.As I am currently trying to buy a house you can guess the problems with which will have to deal. I again called FNBM and talked to a man named Mr. Walling. After a lot of back and forth he told me FNBM jsut reprts these things and he didn't fell the bank had done anything improper.
Can anybody help?
