Complaint: I received my Bank One credit card statement today.  They claim we made a late payment.  They raised the interest rate to 24.5% First of all, I know, I know I paid these guys on-line through my bank, which is Bank One. If they are missing a payment from me I have no idea why. My credit rating is impeccable and I could swear there is some kind of scam going on here.  I called and talked to two reps, neither who would reverse this.  I am looking for suggestions on how to skewer these guys if necessary.  I have banked with Bank One for several years and they don't care about their image?  Andrea Scott andiscott@mai.com

Complaint:
This posting is to file a complaint against Bank One/Wilmington, DE.  My complaint is the following:  How is it that credit card companies can advertise 0% financing and yet charge a "finance charge" for transferring balances thus increasing a persons debt?

Initially, I applied to transfer a current balance of $7800.00 to what I thought was a 0% and now I am "forced" to pay the extra fee as I have transferred any amount, thus increasing my debt even further.  I do not make much money and the total I currently owe is way over my annual salary.  I am interested in cutting down my debt and paying off these incurrances, but the credit card companies do not make it easy for us in the low income bracket.
Complaint: Bank One shortened our grace period by five days without informing us, which caused a possible late fee.  When we approached them, they claimed our time was shortened because we "always pay" our bill!  Figure that out!  Basically, they are shortening the time to try and get more late, interest fees out of their customers.  This is fraud and should be investigated, as this is a major credit card company.  Bank One is in Wilmington, Delaware.

Complaint:
I have a Sony Card from Bank One. I was concerned when I was told that I exceeded my limit this past month by the Trinity Bible College and Seminary. I looked on my Bank One bill, which is paid every month by my credit union, and realized that Bank One has been charging a late fee every month since they took over my account from CitiBank. I realize that I should have noticed this sooner, but isn't that why we set up automatic payments, so we don't have to worry about late fees? They must have changed the due date when they bought out Citibank.

I spoke with Bank One Corporation employee, Erica Frazier, in the Springfield IN office and she said my account was late every month. I have not changed my payment date in all the years that I have been paying automatically. So why are they all of a sudden charging me $35.00 a month? As far as I am concerned, this is FRAUD. They have been charging me $35.00 every month for at least 6 months (Not to mention charging interest on their illegal charge).

She told me she could bump my date up a little so that it would not be late in the future. So what happened to the extra payment of $4000 that I made in November 2003, which was in addition to my regular payment? Didn't that put me ahead of the game.  I think this is one of the reasons that people get so far in credit card debt. The credit card companies charge exorbitant rates and then tack on fraudulent charges on top of that. My payment is an automatic each month and my monthly payments have always been much more than the minimum payment.

I fully intend to let everyone I know about the fraudulent charges from Bank One. I have purchased three Sony computers and a Clie in the past 3 years and since I spent over $3500, I feel that I deserve some consideration. I would think twice before I tried to get anyone else to sign up for a Sony Card serviced by Bank One and I am willing to tell everyone I meet, both in person and on line.

It is not the money, it is the principle. I have reset the payment date with the credit union, but I intend to pay off the credit card and spend quite a lot of time letting people know just how Bank One is usurious and how Sony has been duped into putting their name on a Bank One Card. I have cut up my card and will not be using it again. Unless my money is reimbursed and I receive an apology from Bank One and Sony, I will make this a righteous campaign for the unknowing consumer.

Complaint:
I have a Bank One card through Amazon (which I have always paid on time) at 8.9% interest.  In April, they shortened my grace period by 5 days without notifying me.  Of course, I should have noticed that the due date had been bumped up ... but, I didn't.  So, for the first time ever, my payment was late.  They have now raised my interest rate to 24.99%!!!!
I have called and tried to talk reasonably with them, but to no avail.  They said they won't even consider lowering my interest rate until I have made on-time payments for 6 months (even though I have made 2 YEARS of on-time payments)!!!! Jerks!

Complaint:
I just got done reading other complaints on this site about BANK ONE Credit Card Services.  I am afraid that my complaint is much of the same.  I did notice some similarities:  BANK ONE unilaterally changes your rate from 10% or so to 24.99% or so because you allegedly make a payment that they considered to be late.

My Story:  I have a Visa account with them.  I had a balance of nearly $9,000.00 which consisted mainly of balance transfers I made in order to obtain a good rate (less than 10%).  I made all of my payments on time and always paid more than the minimum.  In March of this year (2004), they unilaterally raised my interest rate to 24.99%.  I picked this up on the May statement after receiving a "change in terms" notice.  I read the notice that stated you could opt out of the changes but you would have to close the account.  I figured that this would be best as I would revert back to my old rate.  Well, I sent in the opt out notice certified mail and they never changed my rate back.  I called to inquire as to why and the C/S rep. told me that they might not have received the opt out notice.  She put me on hold and then came back and stated that my rate had already changed effective March of 2004.  I asked her if it was their bank's practice to unilaterally change rates without !
noticing their customers.  She was evasive.  She then stated it was because I made a late payment in April, which I strongly disputed.  I stated that was after the fact.  She then stated that it was probably due to my credit bureau information.  I asked her who gave her company permission to pull my credit report.  She stated that it is an agreement they have with the C/R bureau to randomly check accountholder's credit info.  I argued that if that was the case, anyone who has an incident of Fraud or identity theft would have all of their credit card rates increased.  She did not have an answer.  I told her to send me a copy of the cardmember agreement where it states that they can unilaterally raise your rate based on reporting info to the credit bureaus.  She stated that she would have a supervisor call me back within a week to address it and they would mail something out.  Well, three weeks went by and no call nor correspondence.

I called today and spoke to a Matthew (a supervisor in C/S) he had no information or answers for me.  He stated the same that the other rep. stated and that there was nothing he could do.  I told him that I will file complaints with all authorities including the better business bureaus, my state attorney general's office, and that I would research the net to see if others are in the same situation.  I advised him that I would then seek all legal remedies by way of an attorney and in the form of a class action if possible against his company.  In addition, I will seek to refinance my existing mortgage which is with Bank One as well.  He did not seem to care.  At that time I concluded my communications with this sorry excuse for a Bank.

In summary, everyone who reads this and is in a similar situation should post their complaint.  Some common ties are as follows:  Bank One "manufactures" a late payment for their account holders, then, without notice increases the interest rate on the account to 20 plus %.  I would have been better off going to a loan shark downtown.  I think I would have been treated better.

Complaint: I too, had a First USA credit card with a good interest rate which they honored just as a reputable bank should. I always pay substantially more than the minimum payments and make my payments on time.THEN CAME BANK ONE, they send enticements too use convienience checks, balance transfers at a lower rate and anything they can come up with to get you to peg your account. In my case I was building a house and used all my cards to cover expenses along they way (never going over my limits and always paying as per our card holder agreement.THEY DOUBLED my interest rate with no good reason without ever telling me. I looked back and noticed they did it in stages so I wouldn't notice and if they notified me it must have been mixed in with the myriads of scam mail they sent because I never saw it. I called and they claimed that because I owed them so much, even though it was less than the limit they established they were raising my interest rate. MY advise is do not believe!
anything these crooks send you and MOST OF ALL DON"T DO BUSINESS WITH THESE THEIVES. BANK ONE CREDIT CARDS ARE SCAMS.THEY WILL USE AND ABUSE YOU WITH NO REGARDS FOR DECENT BUSINESS ETHICS.

A few years ago I signed up for a Bank One (then First USA) credit card. The card was a University of Florida card with a relatively low limit of $2500. A few months ago I received a letter in tiny type informing me that Bank One was raising the interest rate to an usurious 22.9%. I could opt out of this by sending a letter to them on the subject before June. I immediately did so.

Guess what? My June bill comes and it is 22.9%. They "never received" my letter and there is nothing they can do. I know I sent it. I know I sent it months ahead of the deadline but I cannot prove it. Bank One. Remember the name and avoid the company!

BANK ONE is absolutely the worst credit card company from which
to charge. As with most companies that entice you to charge and then
charge you too much interest, Bank One is no exception. BUT their real
crime is the way the company manipulates the mail. If you mail your
payment on time, Bank One will not record the payment in a timely manner.
This results in unconscionable late fees and raises their revenue,
resulting in irritated and abused patrons. I urge you to stay away from
 Bank One.

I had credit card account open for 5 to 6 years with Bank One.
Payments had never been late.I did not owe them any money
Received letter with checks offering a fixed 3.99% for the life of loan.
I had an available credit of $10,200.00

I spoke with a representative from BanK One and asked them if they could make an electronic deposit of $10,000.00 to my checking account, representative said they could only transfer $5,000.00, but that that I could write one of the checks for $10,000.00 and deposit to bank.

The same day I send check $10,000.00 to my bank.
Days later while checking bank statement, found that check had been returned for AACOUNT CLOSED?
Credit Card Acct. was closed after check arrived, I was never told my account was closed when I called, but was instructed on how to get loan by writting check. My financial institution charged me $5.00.

I called Bank One and told them that it was wrong what they had done.
The account was closed because they said I had too much credit, which is fine, if that is there policy. BUT WHAT IS WRONG IS TELLING ME TO DEPOST CHECK, AND THEN LATER WHEN CHECK ARRIVES, THE ACCOUNT IS CLOSED.
I WNAT THE %5.00 BACK, AND "BANK ONE" TO BE INFORMED THAT WHAT THEY DID IS NOT ETHICAL.

Complaint:
I just finished reading the myriad of complaints against Bank One.  I have my own horror story, much along the same lines as everyone else who posted complaints.  Excellent credit (score over 700), 6 year history with First USA (United Airlines Mileage Plus)during the span of which my credit limit was raised from $5,000 to $50,000, never once late on a payment, etc.  Pursuant to divorce, I utilized a convenience check promising 5.99% for life of the balance for a significant amount of money.  Sometime in the past year Bank One took over the account.  In March, 2004, I inadvertently underpaid my minimum payment by $76 (but paid by the due date).  I realized my error, contacted customer service, and was told as a courtesy for being a valued customer the late fee would be waived and my promotional rate of 5.99% would still be honored.  I questioned why my payment was considered late and the CS rep explained that because it less than the minimum Bank One's policy was to conside!
r it late.  I went as far as offering to send additional money so as to have my total payments exceed the minimum (which they always do anyway with this one exception) but was told it was not necessary, my account was considered in good standing.  The following month my promotional rate was still in effect and the late charge was reversed.  One month later, the promotional rate disappeared and I'm up to 14.9%.  I contacted Bank One and got absolutely nowhere.  The only record they have of my previous conversation is reversing the late charge.  The next month, my bill shows up and I'm now at 24.9%!  Again, I call, again they're helpless.  The CS supervisor's supervisor is supposed to call... nothing.  A mysterious change of terms letter was supposedly mailed to me in May, which I've yet to receive.

Bottom line, I'm pissed off.  I've contacted my state's Attorney General, and am seriously considering a class action.  If anyone is interested, please contact me ASAP.

Complaint:
I have had First USA for years with ok service.  I frequently travel out of the country for long periods of time and used their on-line payment system to make payments.  Now that it transferred to Bank One, they cut off my access. When talking to the account representative, they said they closed my account because I rarley carried a balance (i.e. they were not making any money off me).  But OH... by the way, I can still use it and charge to it - just can't pay online! A new policy.  OK. So now I have to mail it in - fine.   Why did they do this?  Because online payments are convenient for the customer.  By the way.  I found this out about 5 days before my payment was due - only when I was trying to make a payment online (no notice was ever given to me).  So now I'm late since it takes about 10 days for mail to get to them from where I am at.  And now I have a late fee and interest went up to 25%!!.  They had no solutions or options.

Never use First USA again, or Bank One, and BY THE WAY - EVERYONE PLEASE TAKE NOTE........  Chase Bank just bought out Bank One, so I will never use them either.

Complaint: I applied for a BANK ONE Visa card with 0% interest for the first 12 months.  I applied over the telephone and today, a week later, my cards arrived.  I read all the terms and conditions of the card, which is odd for me, as I usually just toss that stuff in a file.  I noticed an insert along with the cards saying, "the offer for which you applied has expired.  We have changed the terms of your credit card".  Turns out the 0% interest is only for 4 months, instead of the 12 months I applied for.  I immediately called customer service to complain.  The woman asked me if I had something on paper saying 12 months.  I told her that I saw the offer on their website and did the entire application over the telephone.  She asked me if the person taking the application informed me that the offer had expired.  Duh.  I told her that if that were the case, I wouldn't have applied for the card.  There are plenty of other cards offering 12 - 15 months 0% interest that I would ha!
ve applied for instead.  In addition, why would there be an insert in my new card terms informing me that the terms had changed since I applied (a shockingly long 7 days before)if the person taking my application had already informed me.  You know what BANK ONE.....Cancel my card!!  I don't need your BS.  Beware.  This was bait and switch.  Plain and simple.

Complaint: I received my statement today and saw that Bank One was charging me 25.49% interest on my card, telling me it was a flexible rate when I called to complain. I told the lady this was wrong. Then she told me that the credit card company had checked my credit history in June, 2004 and because I had too much credit, they considered me to be high risk. Well, it would be one thing if I didn't make the payments but I do and have continued to make the payments every month on time. So, it's like I'm being punished for using their card, the customer service lady even told me this is what happens.

Complaint: I see that I am not the only one that has been screwed by Bank One. We also rolled 5000.00 over on First USA card for lower interst rate of 5.9% Quit using the card so we could pay off the account. Then BANKONE buys them out and boom we have a 22% interest which I called and complained and now we have a 24% interest rate. I can't belive, when you are a good customer they won't work with you. I got the same stupid CS person. Then we paid the card off in full and they billed be an additional $39.00 Fee saying it was because they charge daily interst. After 2 phonecalls because the Accountpayble manager hung up on me the first time because of my anger with her. They second phone call they did remove $39. I have cut up my cards and will think twice before I do business with any other credit card companies. American Express is looking better all the time.

Complaint:
Last week I noticed $7000 in unauthorised charges on my BankONE credit card and called them to let them know. Unfortunately, unknown to me, someone had managed to change my address with them and because I could not give it to the agent she refused to believe I was the card owner! The agent was very hostile and confrontational.

Further investigation has revealed that BankONE received a request in the mail with my new address (in South Carolina). I don't know how they can change my address without my signature on the letter they received, which clearly they don't have. But, because they think I am trying to scam them they won't tell me how it happened.

The $7000 was made over 4 days in 6 online purchases (a Russian company had stolen my details somehow ans were paying someone to reship the goods) - how come BankOne never called me to verify this unusual spending pattern? My other card would!

Like others here, I was very happy with my FirstUSA card but BankOne will no longer have my business after this treatment.

Complaint: I am having a problem with BankOne, who considers me a "risk" since I am having financial difficulties.  I am not, nor have I been delinquent with them for over a year.  I also have not been more than 1 day late in over a year with my payment.  I have worked out arrangements with my other creditors, but BankOne has raised my interest rate from 19.9% to 24.99% after I wrote to them asking them to lower the rate.  The phone rep Lisa, who would not give her last name was verbally abusive and told me I was a risk.  I said how can a current account be a risk?  Well, you don't pay your other bills on time, so we consider you a risk too.  I asked her if since they were willing to base this on what I did with other creditors, were they willing to do for me what other creditors would do to help me get turned around?  Like Citibank, who gave me a payment I could make for 6 months with no interest to help me get caught us and reduce my balance?  Or Capital One who worked wit!
h me and then lowered my rate once I got current and remained current for over a 6 month period.  She didn't have an answer to that.  I have written them a letter after getting no where with the phone reps and now I am filing complaint with the Better Business Bureau, the Federal Trade Commision and my State's Attorney General's office.  I encourage others to do the same.  Credit card companies can change whatever they want whenever they want.  This is America, we should have some rights too.  I have made several changes in my life over the 20 yr history of my account with them, but I have not been allowed to change any of the account rules, why can they?  It's like suing a Dr. before an operation just in case he makes a mistake.  If we, the consumer, make enough noise to our legislators, etc, something has to change.  Thanks for letting me vent.

Complaint:
I have had two accounts with BankOne for many years. Recently they increased my APR to 28.99% claiming it to be the result of poor credit reports. This information was incorrect and I followed up with each credit reporting agency to verify.

In the mean time, I received several mail offers from them for very low APR credit cards. When I called them to have my interest rate lowered and refute their credit assessment, I was refused.

At that time I asked that both accounts be closed and paid off the full balance due.

The next month I got additional statements indicating that there were "finance charges" that were unpaid and had accrued. I immediately paid those as well.

The following month I received yet another statement indicated accrued finance charges on the previouisly accrued finance charges and that my APR was 179.64%!

At shi rate they make it impossible to pay off your balance by adding charges after the payoff.

Complaint: I was yet another victim of Bank One.  My rate jumped from 14.24% to 20.24%.  I have never had a late payment or fee of any kind.  It appears they included an insert in my last bill saying I needed to contact them to close my account to any new purchases and leave the rate at 14.24% or leave the account open to new purchases and have it raised to 20.24%.  I'm sure the insert was lodged between the "Free Gifts" inserts and I just never saw it.  Anyway, since I didn't respond by the deadline -they raised my rate and refuse to lower it.  The lesson here - besides how unscrupulous Bank One is  - is READ EVERYTHING!

Complaint: I received my credit card this month and BANK ONE had increased my rate from 6.9% to 24.49%. When I called them to ask them why, they said it was because I had increased my credit card debt on another credit card. They are charging me $223 interest for this month on a balance of $10,696.13. I have had this account about 3 years and have never been late on a payment. I am going to call them every day and ask them why my rate was changed to a rate that even a loan shark wouldn't charge. I would suggest that everone start flooding them with calls. I am also going to call Chase who just bought them out. Ironically, the Chase card is the one I made a large purchase on recently after they offered me a 3.99% rate.

Complaint:
My complaint is against Bank One Credit card company. My husband obtained a credit card from them shortly after we had to declare bankruptcy in 2000(LONG story, due to financial problems with his divorce). We have worked hard to build our credit rating back up in the past 5 years, and have an excellent payment record on ALL of our bills since the bankruptcy, including the Bank One Credit card(formerly 1st card). Every other year, Bank One lowered his credit allowed because of the bankruptcy, despite his excellent payment history.

We have a $1600 balance now, having paid the credit card balance down. He had decided the interest rate was ridiculously high, and wanted to pay it off as soon as possible. Out of the blue, Bank One closed the account due to the bankruptcy 5 years ago, despite the fact that he had an exemplary payment history with them. My husband called to discuss it with them, and the first woman he talked to didn't know if she was afoot or on horseback. She told him the account was closed, and the debt would be discharged from when we declared bankruptcy in 2000. It was not included in the bankruptcy, so how is this possible or legal? My husband told her he wanted to pay the remaining balance to protect his credit rating, and she told him HE CAN'T. So, then he decided to hang up and call back and talk to someone else, who told him that he still owes the $1600 and should pay it, or it would go on his record as not being paid. He also said this has to be done within 60 days. He also said th!
at this is their policy, that once they discover a customer has declared bankruptcy, then their account is closed, no matter how good their payment record is.

My husband disclosed all information about the bankruptcy when he applied for the credit card, so I have NO CLUE why they think they have just "discovered" this. This is the way they reward an excellent customer with an excellent payment record for FIVE years? I don't see how what this company does is in any way legal.

This is one credit card company to stay clear of. Their customer service is non existant and horrible. There are plenty of other credit cards out there, stay clear of these crooks.

I basically have the same complaints against Bank One as I have already read. I only have one suggestion, if we all were to file complaints with the below addressed Goverment Agency, maybe we would get a response. This company is ripping people off, through fine print. If someone has gone this route already please let me know.
The Agency is:
Comptroller of the Currency
Customer Assistance Group
1301 McKinney Street, Suite 3450
Houston, TX 77010-9050
Bank One was very reluctant to even mention this Agency, and would not give me their address. I got the address over the internet. I already have a case #, but all paperwork must be sent to the address. Maybe if we all gave Bank One some heavy doses of paperwork to handle, they would see we have some power as numbers.

I think most of the cards out there are taking great advantage of us regarding the interest.  How can these cards continually raise their rates? I have one that is up to 29%.  I am not a late payment customer. I sign up for a card because of its rate and that it has revolving credit.  In other words I do not have to pay the balance off in full.  Bank One all of the sudden says you have to pay the balance off or they will charge 29% interest.  Bank One is being bought out by Chase, another card that has some sneaky tricks.  Can these card companies get away with this?  Can they charge as much interest they want? Is there no government control on the amount of interest that can be charged?  I want to stop these money hungry companies.  Not all cards are like this.  Just the ones I mentioned above.
What can we do?

When I called about this I was told it was the penalty for going over the credit limit and would go back down in 3-6 months.

Well it never went down, and this week recieved my statement with an interest rate of 29%!!!

When I called the represenative said that even though I have perfect credit because my credit card balances are over 25% of available credit this makes me a risk.?!?

I guess it dosent matter if you pay on time every month, I always pay over the minimum amount due.

Consumers have no rights.

Complaint:
Cardmember services do not understand English.

I sent a payment check with a letter saying not to deposit the check if the previous check cleared and 0 balance on my account.
I also sent an email and called them on the phone not to deposit it when I found my previous check cleared.

4 days after my email and 2 days after my call, they deposited my check.
When I asked them why they do not read the letter, they claimed payment process is full automatic and no human involved. I know that checks are fed on machine but humans have to open envelops and take out checks from mails.

Now they are charging me returned check fee.
Cardmember services are now part of Bank One that have merged with Chase Bank.

If they do not understand English, If 3 ways of English communication fails how can they operate in US?
Can someone answer my question?

Complaint_against: Chase Credit Card

Complaint:
Chase bought Bank One and raised my interest rate to 30% from about 11% and I have never, since the first day the account was opened, in almost three years been late once on a payment. How can that possibly be legal?

I just got off the phone with them and they say they evaluated my credit report and I have too much credit so they raised my rate to 30%! Nothing they can do. That payment is directly debited from my bank account. The fact that I've never been late once in almost 3 years means nothing! Last month the payment was less than the charges! This loan has turned into one that can NEVER be paid back by making the minimum payment!

How can this possibly be legal that a company can change terms so drastically without informing the customer and the consumer has NO rights?

If there's any class action or other movement to fight this robbery - count me in.

Complaint_against: bank one

this is a problem with every credit card company - but bank one is slippery - the refused an investigation.  i ordered several c-ds - they never came - the investigation department wanted to investgate - customer service refused to let them.

i sent a cop to the establishment months later - the owner promised to have them there in a week - they NEVER CAME.

i filled a report but it took months to get it off my bill.

all credit compainys now say - if you gave them you number your responsible - we have noooooooooooo protection against crooks who don't deliver at all or deliver late.

a credit card company has a complaint process - it means nothing - they are not protecting us they are making record breaking profits.

Complaint: I was looking over my statement and found that Chase/Bank One raised my interests rate from 15% to 29% this month.  I called to find out what was going on and they told me someone in the lending review office was reviewing my credit report (I have excellent credit rating) and decided I used another credit card too much so they raised my rates on the one card, which I pay off every month and way before the due date on internet, never late, never over the limit.  Talk about banking abuse, I have a feeling since the new bankruptcy law has been passed, the banks will continue to abuse their customers and raise interests rates on any flimsy excuse.  Talk about fraud.  I have had this account over 20 years, I called back and told them what they could do with their credit card and cancelled my account.  I am going to be writing a letter to Chase/Bank One, to the Banking Commission and to my Representatives in Congress, this is an outrage to just raise rates when you pay !
off your card every month.

Complaint:
Yet another casualty.

Now this gets interesting now that I find this page.

I have a $9000 balance on a Bank1 Gold Card (now Chase) and had an interest rate of 10.99%. Get a statement with my rates raised to 29.99%

I was in the middle of rapidly paying it off (should have been done in 9 months) Now it looks as I can't do squat about this as I've called several times and even visited the bank. They simply will not budge.

They claimed I had a late payment which I never had, until last month where I was out of town for personal reasons. I called the next day and they waved the late fee no problem since I had no problems with my payments before. I have always paid my statements online or at the bank. Even if I made the payment at the bank on the same day, it ALWAYS showed ontime. Both the teller and the CSR had told me this a long time ago that I sould do this. Evidently not the case now. I can't ever prove that I have paid it ontime as I don't keep those reciepts more than two months, so I too am screwed. They told me initially that this was because they ran my credit and based on the fact that I had too much available credit, they raised my rates. How messed up is that?

I would be happy to be part of a class action lawsuit. I am looking at other ways legally to take care of this. They will no longer have me as a banking customer as soon as I get this under control. I have even thought of taking unethical methods like stop paying it altogether and then sue them for harrasement when they call. You can do that you know, there are loopholes...I know folks who've done it, and got more money back and have the credit fixed by law.

This is WAR!

Complaint:
Chase / Bank One completely neglected to send me a statement for a few months in a row.

The very first notice of being "30 days late" was noticed on my CREDIT REPORT!

Not only did I not have any way of knowing I was late (no call, no letter, no anything), they were more than happy to charge $35 of late fees to my account and they refuse to do anything about the 30 days late charges.

It's not even about the money.  I paid the balance in full as soon as I saw it.  I HAD the money.  I just needed some, ANY kind of awareness that I was late, and got none.

By the way, this is all on an Enlisted Club card.  Hell of a way to treat someone serving the country, I tell you.

Complaint: These SOB's...it's the same card for us.  As we were planning to file bankruptcy, they jacked up the interest rate to 27.7%   PIRATES.  Anyway, we called to get a payoff total and were going to pay it off in full.  They gave a payoff but, these MF'ers added continued or projected interest onto the payoff.  In addition to the 12k we payed the SOB's now we owe another 130.00.....if anyone knows how we can counter or complain this it would be much

Complaint_against: Bank One credit card

Complaint:
Dear Sirs,

I tried to dispute a credit card charge  with Bank One in 2003.  A company in Mexico charged $9146.00 on my credit card without my authorization.  They told me that they never got any response from this merchant's bank and they can not do anything for this charge because it is out of country.

I don't know what to do with this.  If I filed a complaint with government agencies, they are not going to do anything. They just list it in file without really doing something. I would like to have your advice how to proceed this in an effective way.  I appreciate your immediate assistance on this matter.  Thank you.

Yours Sincerely,
Shelley Wienke

Complaint: I am a college student that was searching for a college credit card.  I found a website that submits you information to other credit card companies.  My sister was in college as well and was not working so I decided to put her as an additional cardholder.  I didn't receive any contact from any credit card companies until three weeks later, I received a card in the mail with my name on it.  Two weeks later, a card for my sister came in.  I used the card but never received a bill in my name.  I called the company and they didn't have my name or social security number on file.  I explained to them that i have a card in my name as well as my sister.  They told me that she was on file and that i wasn't responsible for the bill.  They would not reverse the information like it was submitted before.  A year later my sister was receiving harassments from a collection agency saying that she had a card but she never used the card.  They are now taking her to court for a debt!
that is mine and not hers.  The applicant was me and not her.  I don't understand how could this happen.  My sister is mad at me for the wrong reason.  I sent two payments to the collection agency and the lawyer over the case says that no payment was sent at all.  Bank One stated that they went for the one with the best credit and noticed that I didn't pay my last credit card off and so they went for my sister.  How can they go after my sister when she was an additional card holder and not a co-signor.

Complaint: USERS BEWARE OF BANK ONE CHANGES TO TERMS OF YOUR ACCOUNT!

I just received a very small, and short change in my Credit Card Terms from Bank One. It reads.  SUMMARY OF CHANGES  -In calculating finance charges, the date when transactions are added to your daily balances and begin to accrue periodic finance charges, will be as early as the transaction period.  What a SCAM! Close your accounts. No more grace period after purchasing. I have excellent credit, and was never late on any payment. Their are better options out there. CLOSE YOUR ACCOUNTS! They need to feel the PAIN!
