Complaint: Aspire visa purchased an account of mine from another company and changed the cost of making a payment ( ie--$15 charge to make an on line payment ) and did not inform me of this prior to payment date. This of course caused late fees and or payment fees which I have refused to pay. Dealing with these people is not possible as they do not seem to have both oars in the water. ( ie-- The third guy in charge from the top did not know that there was more than one stock exchange. ) Should anyone out there have had a bad experience with these people, please e-mail me; so that, we as a group can stop this company from their abuse of little people who can be threatened by credit ratings. Their card provider is the Columbus Bank and Trust Company, Columbus, Georgia.: who in turn is a subsidiary of Synovus Financial. I wonder if this large corporation is the provider of other cards which might have dubious customer relations? You can find the provider of your card in the fin!
e print on the reverse of your info sheet under Privacy Policy. My e-mail is blankconst@cs.com You need not go into great detail, just a general complaint.

Complaint:
I have had a problem with Aspire; the credit company. I have been harassed continuosly by them; calling me at all hours of the night/day. They are charging me $73 per month service charges; or late fees on my payments. I have not even used the card. They had activation that I paid; of $20; and a $176; yearly fee. I am sending them monthly payments; and they are saying they want more or the $73 late fee will continue. At this rate I will never get them paid off. How do I get them off my back...

They are very rude; and threatening; and annoying. Wonder if they will give me their home phone number so I can call them?

Complaint: My Providian account was transferred to Aspire.  I never activated the Aspire Visa card.  I owed a little over $1,000.00.  There was a $35.00 late fee and a $35.00 over limit fee charged when I didn't make the payment.  I've just paid the account down to $80.00.  On my most recent bill, I was billed a $35.00 late charge on 3/23 and a $35.00 over limit fee on 3/24.  I mailed several other payment for different companies the same time I mailed the Aspire payment.  All the other companies received the payments I mailed on 3/24 except for Aspire who claims the payment was received on 3/25.  I tried to dispute the $35.00 over limit charge with several customer service reps.  It was very frustrating dealing with the reps because they are in India and at times they were difficult to understand nor did they understand the questions I asked of them.  I told the reps I thought that Aspire had received my payment on 3/24 but had held it until 3/25 to collect the $35.00 over !
limit fee.  One of the reps told me that if a payment is received before 3:40p.m. the payment is posted as received that day; if the payment is received after 3:40p.m. the payment is posted as received the next day.  I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission stating that I believed Aspire held my payment for a day to collect the $35.00 over limit fee and gave the information about the how I was told they post payments.  Anyone reading this might want to make sure that Aspire is posting their payments in a timely manner.

Consumers BEWARE of ASPIRE VISA card. If you already have one, STOP USING IT and if you don't DESTROY all applications mailed to you to get one.
I made the mistake of taking one in March, 2001, used it, paid it faithfully and on time. Then in September, 03 I fell victim to one of their enclosed "order forms" enclosed with their statement for computer software. I never, to this day, received the software but was billed $27.79. When I wrote (3 times) to try and resolve it, they not only DID NOT investigate, credit, or send software but have continued to bill me monthly adding late fees and interest.  My latest statement was for $278.23 ($214.56 is their inflated charges on an original amt. of $27.79. I have reported them to the FEDERAL TRADE COMMISSION. We MUST stand up and fight these big companies who think they can bully the little guy and ruin their credit. NEVER, NEVER USE ASPIRE!!!!

Complaint: I have an Aspire credit card, it was an account I had with Providian that was sold to this company Aspire. As soon as it was sold, and I realized they charge 10.00 for an online payment, I paid off the account and intended to close it. I never got around to closing it, and I got a bill for an annual membership fee a couple months later. I called to close it then, and had to talk to someone in India. They were polite, but did not understand anything I said. They referred to dollars as pounds, and we had to go around and around before the guy said he understood and would close my account, credit the fee, and send me a letter of confirmation. Of course, no letter came, just another statement with a 49.00 credit balance because the guy had credited the fee twice. I called again, got another guy in India, and we went round and round again. This guy was telling me to go take the money out of an ATM or go to a store and spend it. THIS IS NOT MY MONEY. IT BELONGS TO YOUR !
COMPANY. He just did not get it. If I had taken his advice, I would have been charged fees and finance charges, then, once they realized their error, the extra credit would have been taken away, and I would have owed even MORE to them. Fortunately for me, I was smarter than that, and I still have the credit balance on my account. I wrote a letter 4-17-04, and it still has not been corrected, and I got no response. I'm sending a letter to the Fed and the FTC this time and will let them deal with it. It seems so shady to me, this money does not belong to me, and they want me to take it so they can charge me fees and finance charge so I will end up owing them more money. And, you can't speak to anyone who speaks English unless you call between 9-7 M-F and ask for a manager. Also, these people in India wanted me to verify my full name, full social security number, address, mother's maiden name, and date of birth. Usually it's just your name and last 4 digits of social security n!
umber, and if you refuse they will not speak to you about your account. I don't know about anyone else, but I am certainly not going to give that much information about myself to ANYONE, especially someone in another country. I would NEVER recommend this company to anyone, and I hope that my letters to the regulatory agencies will get someone to take a closer look at this shady company. Good luck if you ever have to deal with them, all I can advise is to keep record of everything that happens.

Complaint: My account was bought out by Aspire about 8 years ago and I have had nothing but problems since. They still send statements and refer to me on the phone by my maiden name, even though I have sent them a copy of my marriage license 3 times, twice by certified mail.I will be married 10 years next May. My husband finally started telling them that no one lives here with that name but it didn't stop the calls. This company would call me every day, starting when my payment was 5 days late, at all hours of the day and night and even on Sunday mornings before 8am. I even told them several times to not call my house again and they continued to call, telling me that because I was a "bad debtor" that they had that right. 4 years ago, I cut a deal with them as my balance was well over $4000.00, with $2700.00 being interest (they raised my interest rate 6 times in a year until it reached 36%), late fees and over the limit fees. I agreed to pay $1500.00 and they would write off!
$1500.00, leaving my balance at $1700.00 which would decrease my payment to something I could try to afford. They waited to write off their portion until after my due date, even though my payment had been received, then charged me interest on the entire balance and an over the limit fee and refused to take it off my account. I have cussed and threatened these folks to no end, even had my attorney call them, but they are in India and just keeping saying "too bad for you. We are sorry but too bad". 2 months ago, I liquidated part of my husband's retirement to pay these folks off. We agreed to a 10% discount for the settlement on Sept 30, 2004. I mailed a cashiers check on Oct 1, 2004 and they posted it on October 4, 2004. I received a statement on October 22, 2004 for the 10% discount amount!!! I faxed 2 letters of dispute, sent 2 emails and left 2 voice messages over the next 2 weeks with no resonse. Today I spent 1 hour and 27 minutes on the phone, trying to get to a live p!
erson. After 5 phone numbers and 4 different people, I finally was told to not worry about it, they would get it taken care of in a week or two. I don't believe them and will call someone tomorrow. I did not know I could file a complaint with the FTC and will try them next. DO NOT EVER USE ASPIRE!!!!!!

Complaint: For two months in a row, Providian/Aspire card services have had problems with their online payment page.  It does not load, or it can't be found by the web.  I always pay online because I discovered long ago that Providian is rather slow at processing mailed payments.  So slow in fact that payments mailed weeks in advance of a due date will still be processed so that you are charged a late fee.  Now online payment services "mysteriously" go down at the end of the last two months in a row so you are forced to pay a 15 dollar phone payment fee, and possibly be charged a late fee.  The automated introduction adds insult to this injury by announcing no fees for online payments for the holiday season.  The customer service is done somewhere in India, making them completely oblivious and apathetic to any problem that might exist with online payments.  They just tell you to take your 15 dollar fee or don't pay at all.  I want to pay my bill, but I am absolutely displeas!
ed and dissatisfied with Providian.  I now lament the day I acquired this card.  It is a cancer in my bones.  Card holders beware.

Complaint: Aspire sold my account to another credit agency back in 2000.  That company sold it to another in 2002.  After I paid off that account I recieved an alert on a credit bureau stating that I have a balance with Aspire visa (columbus bank and trust) of $1616.  Keep in mind that I didnt get this warning until 2005.  What the hell is Aspire doing selling my account and then stating that I owe them that money 5 years later???????    I attempted to dispute this information with experian but they wouldnt remove it because Aspire did varify it.  They (experian) gave me a number to call and when I called it, an automated system stated that I owed $1616 with a past due amount of $297.  I pushed the correct prompts to speak with someone but I kept getting transferred to Jefferson Capital.  DO NOT EVER GET AN ACCOUNT WITH THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!   They will screw you even 5 years after you close your account.  If you had one in the past, be sure to check your credit report.  If I !
didnt have the credit manager with experian I would never of known until I went to purchase my house.

Complaint:
First Equity business Card, PO Box 84075, Columbus, GA
in conjunction with Columbus Bank and Trust

For reasons unkown to myself (and any person I spoke to there) the credit limit on the card issued from this bank to my small business was lowered from $2000, to $0.00. Zero. I tried unsuccsefully for a week to get this matter resolved but was unable to get anywhere. Their customer service represenatives are rude, abrupt, discourteous, condescending, and do not care in the least about customer satisfaction. I did not receive one phone call from the 6+ people that promised to return my calls and let me know what was happening.

I had no choice but to close this account and take my business elsewhere. As I had no credit with them, the car was worthless.

All bills were paid on time and with the exception of the first month, in full monthly. I can only assume that since they charge an exorbitant monthly interest rate, they do not like dealing with customers that use the card and do not pay any interest at all.

Not one person w/in that company expressed any concern or care about this situation nor made any attempt to resolve it. One rep and manager/supervisor after another passed the buck time and again. It is unthinkable that someone within that company could not have dealt with this the first time I called in and for it to go on an entire week with no resolution, well, perhaps they enjoy paying for the 3 calls a day I had to make to get someone to pay attention to me and this issue.

NEVER GET THIS DAMN CARD!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have had an account with ASSPIRE for 2 years. I am constantly getting calls saying I did not pay my monthly payment. Well, I am not getting bills or I am getting them almost at the due date. Of course ASSPIRE is blaming it on the post office. Weird how I get my capitol one statement and my Dilliards bill every month along with electric, phone, car, insurance--you get the idea-- on time. They called today, to say once again I missed a payment, I tell them once again no bill. They said I should know when my bill is due and call when it does not come. Last month I paid it on the 17th, this month it was supposedly due on the 9th. How did I lose 8 days this billing cycle. Lost my ESP I guess. They have raised the interest rate from 18 to 36% in this time. About 7 dollars a month goes to my balance, the rest is interest and shit. I have worked hard to get my credit in good standing but I am seriously considering letting them eat the balance I owe. Give them a little butt discom!

Complaint: I received a letter from a company that brought an Aspire Credit accout that was in my name.  The problem was that it was a case of identity theft.  Now the company wants me to settle the account that someone took out in my name I refuse to pay for someone committing a crime against me.  I hold Aspire Credit Card company responsible because they should have checked with me through phone conversations or some other method to check to see if the purchaser was actually me.  Now I have this enormous debt on my credit that is going to take forever to get off because I have to go through a dispute process. Credit card companies need to take responsiblity on how they selicit information and checking to make sure that the information and ID of the purchaser is who they say they are

Complaint: NEVER Sign up for an Aspire Visa Card.  I had a small card with a credit limit of $300.00.  I paid my payments on line and as a result of thier stupid ass internet site always having an "Apache Error" I was never able to make my payment on time.  I called the customer service and never got resolution.  I never once reached a service rep who could speak anything but broken English.  I guess we know where all America's jobs have gone.  These people are rude, uncooperative, and malicious.  Three different times I called these assholes to cancel this card.  But continued to be billed and eventually reached a $1,200 balance due to late fees and over the limit fees due to late fees.  Finally I recieved a letter telling me that they were writing off my account and that they were reporting it on my credit rating.  FINE THEN FINE.  Then they sold my account to some place called Midland.  Today some asshole XXXXX XXXXXXXX from Morrisvilee, PA 19067 called me.  By the way if you just want to fuck with him his number is 1-XXX-XXX-XXXXX.  He asked for everything but my firstborn.  I told him that I have been diagnosed as bipolar and am awaiting my disability.  That currently I am on public assistance and have no money to send him.  He informed me that I signed a legally binding contract and that I owed the money.  I really wonder, if they can hold me to that since before he hung up he called me a "crazy bitch".  Are crazy people really responsible???Hey, he brought up the "C" word not me.  These people are leaches who pray on those who have very little to begin with.  I told him to do what he felt like he had to do then I hung up.  The government should regulate these glorified loan sharks.  I plan to give everyone this assholes number to see how he likes being called.  So, if you get bored give ole' XXXX a call and tell him the "crazy bitch" told you to call.

Complaint: Yes, I agree with everyone else here, Aspire Visa is one of the worst credit card companies to go with. I am now in collections because I could not get a straight answer out of this company. I was also charged very high fees every single month! They would call me sometimes 3 or 4 times a day for the same reasons. Once I told them that they already called, they still wanted to know when I would pay off my bill. Or I would set up a payment plan to get the card payments down, it would just fly into the wind. They would deny that they talked to me or made any type of agreements at all. They also sent me many postcards in the mail with my amount owed on it!!!I tried to fight several unknown charges on my account, by I never heard a reply from them. I wrote them many times to address the issues I had with them, I emailed them and tried to contact them by phone, with no response or defense on their part. So I ended up letting the card go because I had given up on it. Now !
I am in collections for it and they are still roaming around free doing this to other people as well.

Complaint:

I was offered this card "Aspire Visa Card" and as a student this was something I welcomed to consolidate my little purchases here and there like school textbooks etc. I did not know that these people (Aspire) were out there to take advantage of the poor students like me. After few purchases, they sent me a bill stating that my interest rate has gone up before I knew it; in my next bill they had increased my basic payment to a sum I could not afford as a student.

I moved and before I moved I specifically called them and gave them my new address to a lady called "Jennifer" also I completed a form indicating my new address. I went for vacation for two months and I left my sister to pay all my bills. For some reason my sister missed one payment due to the fact that they never sent the monthly bill to my new address. When I came back I was over my credit line. I called them about their failure to send my bill to my new address. They denied ever receiving my new address information and when I asked for "Jennifer" the one I gave my new address, they said they never had an employee by that name. To my understanding today, Aspire employees use fake names.  And  Their customer service representatives are rude, stupid, uncivil, arrogant, and do not care about customer satisfaction.

Because this card was out of my control, I joined a consolidating company and to my surprise Aspire didn't accept my consolidation company's offer, instead they kept on increasing my interest rate, billing me for late payment because I was over my credit line. Funny enough my consolidation company sends them money each month but it doesn't count!

Recently Aspire sent me a proposal urging me to pay a certain amount of money and they will drop all my interest rates to ZERO and that, they will be no more late payment charges towards my account. Silly me, I went with their proposal and paid the money they had requested thinking that everything will be all right!

Within three months period Aspire had changed their terms of agreement and this time they said I had missed a due date and that they have dropped me out of their program and I will have to pay another sum of money to get back to their program!  For that reason my interest rate is up again and I am being billed for late payment because my credit line is over the limit! Sincerely speaking Aspire never set a due day during our agreement, all what we agreed upon was as long as I send in the payment, everything is Ok.

This is a world wide warning, anyone who comes across a card called ASPIRE VISA CARD, please say NO however broke you're. This card is not in your best interest

Complaint: Who is behind this scam? Can anyone please help? This monster Aspire is shredding our lives apart.  I have never ever seen a credit card like Aspire. Everybody in this company is there to get our money. Their customer representatives use fake names and when you call them, they deny such names. I always pay on time but one month they charged me late payment and when I called them they were so rude defending what they see on the computer if at all there is one. The lady Susan called me a liar that what I was telling her was not corresponding to what was on her computer. I decided to mail them my bank statement showing the day they took my money from the account, which was before the due day. The next bill came with a late charge, I called them again specifically I asked for Suzan, they said Susan has never been an employee with them. And that they have never received the bank statement, however, they received the money, which was rapped in the bank statement! Up to !
date, they have never resolved my issue, and when I call them different people come on the phone and we go around again. They should change their name from Aspire to ASS POOR

Complaint:
Several years after my divorce I wanted to establish credit and started out with Capitol One and Aspire Visa and used them for years. I use credit cards for everything and normally do not have any problems. I am in excellent standing with Capitol One and was with Aspire Visa. Aspire Visa use to have a customer service but then they must have changed their policy to a no direct contact unless they want to collect a debt. About 2 years I paid off all my debts but could never get a straight answer on my balance with Aspire Visa  so they missed out when I received my windfall. I continue to make payments on time via Federal Express but started scrutinizing my bank statements and Aspire's invoices and noticed my checks would clear my bank before the credit card statement due date but I was being charged a late fee. I would make larger payments than the minimum required but my balance never changed if anything increased. The toll free number on the card does not allow the card ho!
lder to speak to an individual and the website gives you an automated response that a represenative will respond in a few days but that never happened in one year. I wrote to the company and received no response EVER just the monthly increasing balance. After 10 months I thought I will send them one final email stating my complaint and if they did not respond in detail why they had closed my account, ratise my interest rate, and ansered my questions I considered the debt paid in full. I felt if I withhold payment they will contact me and they did 60 days later. They listened to my story but explained they were in collections and could not help me but they accepted my telephone payment to bring current and to call this number that I could speak with a live rep that was in INDIA. Their customer service is very small they explained and they wer hard to understand. ????? I never got to speak with anyone. I got so frustrated I decided to blow off the debt then they called me agai!
n. I felt guilty over the debt and set up a payment plan with a nice young lady ( I thought) She sid they would stop all interest and next month I would need to pay the same amount. The next day and every day they started calling saying I was still in collections and I needed to pay more. They would always call me at work
acting as they were returning my call, page me out of meeting, harrass the hell out of me. I told them finally to stop callin me on my job. They were jeopardizing my employment because we were not allowed to have personal calls not to mention paging. Today was the last straw the caller from Card services became very rude with the switchboard and they demanded to speak with Human resources. They humiliated me on my job. I wish they would be sued in a class action suit. These people are the Worst. Do not get a card from Aspire.

Complaint: I express mailed a Money order payment for the entire balance of 254.50 on 11-7-05 and have confirmation from the USPS that it was received and signed for by a Robert Matthews on 11-8-05 at 1:27pm. I faxed a copy of the confirmation letter to the company and nothing was done. I contacted the company where I bought the Money Order and had them trace the money order. To my surprise, the money order was placed for deposit into Columbus Bank & Trust a.k.a. Aspire Visa on 11-9-05. I faxed them this as well and as of today, 11-15-05, no money has been posted towards my account. They have charged me over 30 dollars interest in the last 5-6 days on an account that should have had a ZERO balance on 11-9-05. I smartly kept all the records of deposit, Money order receipt, and the USPS confirmation letter and I have contacted the North Carolina and Georgia Attorney General's Offices as to this companies unfair business practices. I know I have a case, and I will pursue this u!

Complaint:
I have been having a hard time financially and have had this company hounding me constantly day and night. I cannot complain too much when they have called me in the past when I have been late with my payments except for the fact that they will call 5 or more times a day and NEVER leave a message. However, I have been able to turn my situation around and I am working very hard to pay this God-forsaken card off. I called on November 9th and made payment arrangements for November, December and January. To my surprise I found their number (I\'ve seen it so much that I have it memorized)on my caller ID this morning when I got home from the grocery store. I called them and I was irate. I demanded to know why they were calling me when I have already made payment arrangements (for which I have 3 confirmation numbers that they gave to me) through January. They would never give me a straight answer as to why they called me. I am keeping detailed records now of everytime they call me!
. I am being harassed by this company when I am truly trying to take care of this account. I also informed the representative on the phone today that I am sending all of my information on this situation to the Attorney General\'s office as well as the State Corporation Commission in the Commonwealth of Virginia. This is not the first time that I have had this issue with Aspire, but this is the first time I have all of my detailed records. One time I called them to make my payment and I specifically asked to please be sure that no one called me. I kid you not- someone called me not 10 minutes later. The representative assured me today that it wouldn\'t happen again and they were putting some kind of restriction on calling me. I told her that I\'ve been promised that in the past so that she really had no credibility with me. No one should EVER consider getting one of these credit cards, nor should this company be allowed to operate in the manner that it does.

Complaint: I was shocked to read all of these complaints.  I got online to look up Aspire and see whats up with their online services, but obviously I don't even need to e-mail them.  I am a 20 year old full time college student.  I got Aspire when i was 18 to help pay for college.  My bill after 4 semesters was 1000 because i used it for books mostly.  Now two years later after paying on time my bill is 1700.  I don't know what to do, I don't really have parental guideance, I've been on my own since I was 17.  Can anyone out there contact me and help me out with this matter?  The last person I talked to on the phone threatened me and FORCED me to pay over the phone...I said "I'm tired of paying you people over the phone, this is not right, i want to see it on paper" and she claimed "Do you w ant a bad credit score?  Do you want to be in debt?  I wouldn't, just pay it now."  I cried on the phone and begged every person i talked to to PLEASE send me something in the mail.  I !
finally got my statement and I was shocked to find the extra $700.  I'm still in school and can't afford this at all.  If i had parents I would ask them to help me, but becasue I'm on my own I don't know where to startt to maybe transfer the amount to another card?  I'm just so upset.  Please help!

Complaint: I applied for a aspire card on the internet in december of 2005. I got the card in amazingly fast like within a week. when i went only to check on the card like i do with all my other cards i noticed that there was a balance of $20.00. I called them up and they said that this was an express mailing fee because they send me the card via fedex. Well as soon as a found this out I told them that I wanted to see a copy of my application where it asked me if i wanted it expressed mailed or not and needless to say they could not provide me that. They said that they would wave the fee and it would take 24hours so I said ok. When I went only to check the balance the next day it was $40.00 instead of $20.00. So I call them up and they said that there were 2 express mailing fees and whoever i was talking to put me on hold so they could find out why and 45min later I get hung up on. I call back at least 4 more times and continually get up on. Asking for a suprivisor doesn't w!
ork because you get hung up on after being on hold for forever. The only solution I found was to ask for someone in the united states which seemed to work. He said that it takes 24hours but both fees should be taken off. you can be damn sure as soon as I get those fees off of there i am canceling this good for nothing card. If you need any help getting through to them send me an email, I am farely good at getting what I need if you need help. calljosh85@yahoo.com

Complaint: In 2000 we obtained an Aspire Visa Credit Card. We paid the credit card off in full in 2002. Late 2005 then a collection agency started calling us because they were told that the bill was never paid off. Three years later, the proof of paying it off is gone, the store where we sent the payment through Western Union has since closed. Our family had moved and some important papers were lost during the move. It is 2006 now and they are still calling us everyday even on Sunday demanding for us to pay them AGAIN. SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE. P.S. The confirmation letter that they sent us stating that we paid in full was also lost in the move. I wish they would just leave us alone

Complaint:
After reading all of the complaints against Aspire Visa, I can't believe that they are still in business.  Except that they are owned by multimillionaire politicians.

Aspire sold my account to MCM collection agency.  No one can tell me what the charges are for.  When, what, where.  I have no recolection of signing up for an aspire visa card.  I seem to remember having a Providian Credit card for some reason.  I have read in some postings that Providian sold its debts to Aspire.  Google this on the web "Ralph Reed's Ties to the Credit Card Company By Betty Clermont"

I am sure that the $195.87 that they claim I owe them is all fake fees for a card that I never used.  Call center in India, like I'm gonna give my SSN and bank routing number to a stranger over the phone.

Complaint:
I was trying to repair my credit, and they sent me something in the mail.  I signed up, and was given a $300 limit.  A year later, after good standing with them they let me know I was eleg. for a limit increase of $150.  I accepted.
I have always paid more than the min. amnt. due.
6 months later I recieved my bill, mailed in my payment, and thought I was ok.  The next month when I got my bill I was shocked to see that they had charged me a late fee ($35), and then an over the limit fee ($35) (because of the late fee).  They said my payment was recieved late.
I looked it up with my bank, and the check cleared BEFORE my due date.  They told me that they would wave the fees, and that my account would be back in good standing.
The next month, again, the same thing, because they had not waived the fees, and they were charging me interest for the late/over the limit fees.  I finally got the guy to xfr me to an "Account Specialist Supervisor" who was in the states.
I asked her to close my account, and waive all fees, and told her I would continue to make the monthly payments to them.
I am hoping that I don't experience the same things that everyone else has.  I have been working very hard to repair my credit over the last few years.
But, when I call I always ask for an "Account Specialist Supervisor" and I am connected to someone stateside.  Give that a try if you get someone who speaks broken English, and won't listen to you.

Complaint:
My father had an aspire visa card and was only late once on his payment.
they would call every day sometimes twice per day. this is a major problem with this compay along with the customer service people in India that speak broken english. my father called these towel heads back in april of this year and demanded to know the exact ammount that he owed to pay off the card along with any other hidden charges the qouted him a price of about $470 and he asked them if that was the final figure and they said yes. well he paid off the credit card by money order and cut the card into pieces and told them to wipe themselves with it because he was done with them all together. now he has been receiving a bill from them for about $17.00 which he will not pay. when he asked for the final payment ammount he paid what they quoted them. it almost sounds like the mafia demanding protection money.
i think all of us who has been harrased by aspire visa should start a class action lawsiut against aspire visa and be rewarded at least $5000 per person for our troubles. and as far as customer service is concerned if they dont speak proper english they don't need need to be calling us here in america, they should be driving taxi cabs in new york instead. i just wish that movie fight club would become a reality

Complaint: I feel so stupid!!  We consolidated our loans when we refinaced our house.  We decideded not to pay off Aspire because it was under $1000.00.  TWO years later, the balance has not changed much.  We began making bigger payments, ON LINE, so that it would not be LATE!!!!  Now, it will cost you $4.95 to make an on line payment or $14.95!!!! for a phone payment!  If you attempt to pay in the mail, forget it---you are charged a $30.00 late fee! This is a total rip off, and something needs to be done about it.  The stories that I have just read seem far worse, but we need to do someting....doesn't seem like contacting OUR govt. does any help.  News Media anyone?  John Stosell?

First, I did apply for an Aspire credit Card with 9% APR. I received a first bill with 25% APR. I used for will and keep paying the bills by mail and internet. Second, the last few months, I did not received the Aspire's mail. I tried to call but no answer. I look at their website, I find out that I over paid the bills. I send an email to get in contact with the customer service to cancel this credit card, but no answer.
This Aspire company is the worst credit card company. Their are using customer service from India. There are CON, blood sacker, and thiefts. Compucredit owns 70% of this company.  You could send a registered letter to the CEO. You could also try the media such as Fox News (Orielly) Start a chain reaction so other people contact the same media source. The target would be the shareholders. Remember the last thing they need is bad publicity as it could cause the shares to go down.

Complaint: I do not understand how these people are even qualified to work.  The reps always seem to be the same guy with an Indian accent, and then he transfers me to the "manager" who also sounds just like him.  I repeatedly talked to them about my address being wrong, and I get another call a week later saying that I need to pay.  I ask them I haven't received any statements in the mail, and when they check my mailing address, it's wrong AGAIN.  I'm just in utter disbelief that there is such a company like this.  They are abusing people who are in unfortuneate situations.  I seriously don't know how to get out of this- I want to cry.  If anyone cancelled their Aspire Visa account successfully (without having them hassle you and charging fees after your account had been closed) PLEASE e-mail me with advice.  I want to get out of this but I don't see how if I can not even communicate with these people.

Complaint:
I got an Aspire Visa to use as an emergency card.  When I requested the card it was to a promotion with no fees for one full year. Only a 20.00 processing fee.
I received the card in Feb 2004. I used it Feb 26, 2004 for 126.85. My very next statement said I owed 650.85. They said the rest of the bill was for fees and an over the limit fee. I told them about the no fees for a year. They said I didn't get my card in time for that promotion. I requested the card as soon as I got the promotion. They had total control over when I got the card. I cancelled the card that month and they have harrassed me ever since. I have begged them to take me to court and they refuse to do so.
I know if as many people that are willing to band together, we can force them to correct these problems.
Anyone wishing to join a class action law suit, please contact me at jjpgrandma@aol.com
Thank you

Complaint: Me and my husband both have an Aspire card.   I paid mine off in Feb on the 9th.  They did not post my payment til the 12th, and then cancelled my card.  My husbands card was fine when we paid it down til I noticed they raised his interest rate to 51%, no joke.   He has not been late except in February when he was 3 days late.  I advise anyone with this card to pay it off asap.  Then close your account.  They are a very shady company, and there is little you can do to get it resolved.

Complaint: i had an aspire card for roguhtly 6 months. The card was stolen and I had not realized it until I received the first bill. I reported the card stolen and Aspire immediately closed the account. They said would send a nmae affidavt and never did. I called several times to make sure the address on file was correct. I then called to a few months later only to be told I had to make the minimum payment in order for them to send the information to Loss Prevention. So i did. Well, I am now two years later with a negative credit history and still no name affidavit. Not to mention, they are suing me for $1,023.00. The limit on the credit card was $300.00. Whomever stole it, charged $200 worth of gasoline and the rest were thier fees. So how did they come up with $1,000 in fees?!?!? I hate this company!!! I have contacted a lawyer and am in the process of suing them!!

Complaint: In assisting a friend, I have read a good many of the complaints posted about Aspirecard. There are ways to deal with these people that are very affective. It worked for my friend and it could work for you. That is, if you work hard at putting everything together. First: Gather all of the documentation you can muster. Use whatever time and effort it takes, it really helps. Even ask them for documentation. You can even ask them for a complete history of your account. Just don't tell them why. Second: Go online and download or call for a complaint form from your State's Attorney General's office. Third: Before you fill out the actual form do a few dry runs and write every thing in detail until you have all the information correct. Forth: If you can't get the forms, then you need take time (a lot of time) and write a good letter about your complaint. Enclose only the facts and your personal experiences (no opinions, no curse words, on ranting), you don't want to sound like a crackpot or worse. When you finish your letter, read it for spelling and content, think about it for a few hours or a day then write it again. There's always room for improvement. IT IS IMPERATIVE THAT YOU WRITE A GOOD CONCISE LETTER. If you're not good at writing, after you think you have every thing written down as well as you can, then get help from a friend, a professor, or pay someone professional to help with the finished letter. It's worth the effort! Fifth: Send an original, SIGNED "Letter Of Complaint" (NOT COPIES) off to your State's Attorney General, The Attorney General of Georgia and the U. S. Attorney General. I CAN TELL YOU, if you have a legitimate complaint, you will see results. If several people were to write complaint letters The FED's would get in on the act and do something about the harassment, wrongful charges, and other situations.

Complaint: recently I was informed by Aspire that my card was canceled. I have had no late or non payment with these people for the whole ten years I have had the card. I am not near my credit limit. I had my son look them up and they are a subprime company cutting their losses and getting out of the card business. They canceled all of their cards. The problem is they have almost doubled my minimum payment to recoup their money. Since they defaulted on the contract I find this to be absolutely outrageous!

Complaint: I got a letter a few days ago saying my account is closed. I have always paid early, more than amount due...and had just paid a payment. I used the card, recently, and thought I had enough available credit to cover it okay. I was told, I was $100.00 over the limit. I don't know how that can be. I called them, and was told they are closing all card accounts. I have always known they charge exorbitant interest rates. I did not know they charge $150.00 a year, just to have the card. I wondered how my charges got so high, and seemed to be moreso than I ever used the card. I had the card since 2005. If there! is a lawsuit, I would be glad to join it....so please let me know.

Complaint: I too had Aspire credit card for 4 years and and during the month of August I made a payment online with another account and due to the fact the company irresponsible actions being looked upon when I told them that I wanted the payment posted from another checking account they ignore it and posted it to the original checking account that is locked into their system. I called and got a foreign representative and they charged me a over the limit fee as well as late charge because they tried to take the payment from my original account after I called them and told the! m not to take the payment out of the account listed. Now my credit is blemished from this mistake by their company andmy account is closed based on my credit report. This company needs to further investigated. Because they are ripping average consumers like me and you.

Complaint: So, my situtation is when I orginally got this card things were great - then I lost my job and fell behind a little - my APR was raised dramtically. I did my best to pay on time more than the minimum due. They kept increasing my limit even with numerous attempts from me to lower it. Then my husband lost his job so we fell behind again, a little - they closed my account - ok no biggie I hadn't been using it anyway. I pay on time and more than the minium due - so I ask them to set me up with auto bill pay - I get a letter saying this was going to take place on Jan 30th my first autopayment of $70 - great I am all set ! right - NOPE they have not deducted anything and increased my percentage rate AGAIN and now have me listed as deliquent when I am on auto payment - Its my fault they didn't take the money??? Ummm I am thinking not! So now - since they are in bankruptcy and are not willing to work with me and have totally screwed me - I will simply not pay them anything anymore - it will get charged off as bad debt and they can go suck pond water for all I care. They are the reason this country is in the position it is in. I am trying to pay things off and asking them for help and they are simply ignoring me. So as far as I am concerned - I am on auto bill pay and have a letter stating so - so if they forget or dont withdraw the money from my account - then that is an them - Screw them - they suck!!

Complaint: This has got to be the worst credit card company in the world. I didn't start having problems with them til I ran up over a thousand in debt. They would send me my bills, I would mail them a money order that same day and they would not post the payment to my account until 3 weeks later claiming they "just got it." I know for a fact that it does not take a 1st class letter 3 weeks to travel a couple states away. So I began making online payments but they charge you to do that. I recently became unemployed and I called them up to explain that it would be a month or two before I could make a payment. Figuring i've been a 10 year customer and they'd gladly help me, they flat-out refused. Every other credit card i've ever had, they were more than happy to help me out by waiving a fee or two and lowering my payment. The only reply Aspire ever gives (even their manager) is "there is nothing we can do." I have NEVER heard of a credit card company that refused to help a long-time non-delinquent customer until now.
